Compensation for Delay in Possession

Help Needed.

A reputed builder in Mumbai has delayed the possession of the flat for more than 9 months.

Can i expect a compensation against this delay?
is it lawful to ask for such compensation?

Please suggest the way forward.

The agreement to sell must be referred regarding clauses for delay in possession, however you may claim compensation by approaching consumer court for deficiency and delay in service.
