sir
i m final year student in LLB course, i m vary confused about "what should i opt for in future? should i go for judiciary test or go for litigation or else where" I need your guidence. And if I go for litigation where from should I strat and what must be my first step.
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 20 September 2010
Dear Mr. Yogesh,
All the options are open to you.
Right from now you can start preparing for judicial service exam. (Joining a law firm will definitely fetch you more compensatin than what you will get from the judicial service.) If you are looking only for normal steady income, status and comfort better join judicial service. If you are looking for earning decent money through hard work, go for option 3 and 2 below in that order.
2. I am not aware of your background and financial strength. If you have proper background (like some one in your family like father or brother already in the litigation) then taking up litigation along with them may be beneficial. Otherwise, litigation will require 3-4 years gestation time to fructify. If you are financially sound, no one is dependent upon you for financial support, then you can try your hand in litigation.
3. If 2 above does not suit you, then you can try to join a good law firm, where you can get decent compensation.

I agree with Mr.Ramachandran.
He has answered all questions in detail.
In fact, he tried some thing more than what Mr.Yogesh expected.

Son,
If U have a good person who will guide U in the legal profession, go for it as U will always be a free bird.
If U wish to have a easy life without much hankering for money & fame, join the judiciary.
If U like challenges,U should join the profession or opt for a law post in the Private sector.

Before joining Judiciary it is better to have some experience of practicing law. Find some Senior Advocate and work with him and you will have good experience.
