FUNCTIONS OF NOTARY

i want to know the powers, functions and duties of NOTARY. I am recently appointed as a NOTARY by GOV OF INDIA.I also want to know about what precautions i should take while discharging the notorial works?

Go for a thorugh reading of the Notaries Act. You will understand the object of the ACt and functions of the Notary. Maintain the Statutory registers as provided for in the Act. I precaution I suggest is donot sign or attest without verfying the original documents and donot sign without the signature of the Deponent.

After being in practice foe 10 yrs or more you vcan take exams held for notary eligibility. other rules and regulations can be looked into the notaries act.
