activation of surrendered lic agency

(Querist) 10 May 2009 This query is : Resolved
I was an LIC agent at Ghazipur, U.P. from nov 1992 to 1997.
then after, I surrendered my agency under section 144 (?).I have been getting the renewal commission on the policies I had markeded. Now I want to do my agency job again'.
Can I get my agency re-started at my new place of residence at Mumbai, without going through fresh licencing process,i.e,
whether my licence can be allowed to be used by me.

Dear Srivastva !

you can file an application before the LIC of India with refernece to your previous Business for LIC/Agency at Ghazipur and reasons for surrender of Your agency at Ghazipur and reasons for fresh application for approval Agency at Mumbai ,
I think the LIC may approve your application , provided there are no reasons to reject your application .

You can re- Start Your Agency at your New Place of Residnecy - Mumbai !

Dear Rajesh,
LIC has now changed its policy about recruitment of agents previously applying as an agent was not a problem now the process has changed. Contact your nearest Branch Office and meet the Development Officer there.

The Branch Manager (I/C) will conduct an interview, and if found suitable, you will be sent to training at Divisional/Agency Training Centre.

The training is for 100 hours and covers all aspects of Life Insurance Business.
After successful completion of training you will have sit for Pre-Licencing examination conducted by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA).

After successful completion of the examination you will awarded a Licence by the IRDA to work as an insurance agent.

You will be appointed as an agent by the Branch Office and you will be a part of the team under your Development Officer.

The Development Officer will impart you field training and other valuable inputs which will help you in the market place.

This process is also applicable to people who have surrendered their agency
