Attestation of affidavit

Guest (Querist) 30 July 2011 This query is : Resolved
Sir,
I am a fresher lawyer. One of my known one came to me and told me that he is having affidavit signed by his wife and took me to notary to attest the affidavit so that it is further attested by notary. In the register of notary also i signed. In case some day it is found that signatures are not of his wife then will i be held responsible and can it affect my career as a lawyer. I put my attestation purely on good faith.

The notary advocate should be signed it in the presence of the deponent.

If U R so apprehensive, do not do it in future. As for the job done, stop worrying & move on.
