Govt counsel/ prosecutor

Can a govt counsel do private practice as a private advocate as well? What are the stated restrictions?

Dist., Govt., pleader can practice, but Public Prosecutor/Asst., Public PRosecutor cannot, even advocateadvocated as APP/Special PP can practice

Rajiv has aptly put it. Dist. govt pleader can not appear on behalf of a party in any proceedings before any other court in which govt. is a party.
