A spelling mistake itself is a problem unless get it corrected by the authorities which conducted the examination. They can correct the spelling mistake if you produce the relevant documents like Hall ticket / identity card with which you attended the examination.
It seems it would be easy for you to convince them that this is a simple spelling mistake due to oversight so long as you have written your parent’s name, residence etc correctly in the application form.

Agreed with Hon'ble Member, the application be filed.. As last recourse , you can also file writ petition before the Hon'ble High Court for the relief mentioning the case in hand against there denial.

Neither the issue is mature to be discussed, nor any legal problem exists as of now. Suppositions about future may only confuse you.
Also courts and petitions are not the solution for every issue. Anyone suggesting that tends only to complicate the simple issues beyond imagination.
No problem would arise in your final selection. Just at the time of verification of your credentials/ documents by the employer, get that error rectified with reference to your documents.
