Change of Place of birth In Indian Passport

Hi
I had done one mistake while applying for a fresh passport I had wrongly entered my fathers native place in my place of birth in passport application and i got the passport,my birth had taken place in bangalore,during that time my parents didnot register my birth with local muncipal authorities and now i want to change my place of birth in my passport.my friends are telling that you cant change the place of birth once the passport issued,some people are telling that its an offence according to the passport act
so I kindly request all people who know the solution can help me to over come from this problem.

while applying for the passport,in the documents supplied along with application, which place was mentioned as birth pace.
the office is supposed to note the correct place of birth noted in the documents.
anyhow you get it corrected at the rpo where your passport was issued.

Sir my Date of Birth is **/**/1990 and the regional passport office will accept the application only the birth certificate from the muncipal,corporation or any local authorities.I had given the non-availability certificate to the passport office in that the issusing authority said that the birth as not registered.according to RPO one born on or after 26/01/1989 they have to submit the birth certificate issued from the registrar of births.I am confused whether i have to sue the case and get declaratory order from the class one judicial magistrate.
