what is the meaning of INTESTATE SUCESSION?give some citations.
R.Ramachandran (Expert) 14 March 2011
If a person dies without making any WILL, Gift etc., of his property, then he is said to have died intestate. If the person had left any WILL, then the person named in the WILL will succeed to the property of the deceased to the extent provided for in the WILL.
In the absence of such a WILL, the property left behind by the deceased person would be inherited/succeeded by the legal heirs of the deceased person in equal share. This is called Intestate Succession.
