how we can file suit for defemation under which act?

issue notice claiming damages due to defamation and then file a suit for recovery of it.

to file a suit for damage and compensation due to damage cause to the reputation by such defamation. the amount of damage and compensation is to be assess by the party on the basis of certain factors i.e his position, nature of defamation, financial loss caused to him, mental agony etc.

There is no special Act which covers defamation. IPC covers only criminal action. It comes under general law which is a tortious act. Follow the procedure prescribed by our friends above.
