Lost Warranty Card

Respected Sir,
I have purchased one SF Sonic Turbo 34B20R car battery which is a subsidiary of EXIDE Battery, with serial no 5b8112050 printed on top of battery with 4yrs warranty, some 10 days back. While taking the battery I forget to collect the warranty card (which was filled by the shopkeeper) from the shop, and it got misplaced/lost. Now the battery is leaking from the joints. Dealer is not entertaining without warranty card. What should I do? Will u please suggest me?

If you have the bill from the shopkeeper, you can insist for repair/replacement and in case of non compliance you can file a consumer case against the dealer and the company.

You should serve a legal notice on the dealer as well as manufacturer for necessary action about repair or replacement of the article mentioning the serial number and other details. On failure to comply therewith, you may avail the remedy of Consumer Forum. The manufacturer company provides same warranty on all articles of the same category and the liability cannot be denied merely for want of warranty card.

you can still avail the warranty benefits all products comes with serial no you can get benefits with tat , the company may charge you a little amount to give you a duplicate Warranty Card , but your warranty remains valid even if you loose the card.
if you not get the same, then do the same what other learned experts opined.

The bill is a proof of purchase and is needed only when the dealer denies purchase of goods. In case the dealer does not deny purchase of goods, the bill is not needed. However, even if the bill is misplaced, you may prove purchase of goods with the help of other evidence.

You first serve a notice and see the response of the dealer and manufacturer. Hopefully, they will not deny the purchase made by you.

Sir if as you say that you had purchased some 10days back you are advised the dealer again and ask for duplicate bill or zerox copy of the dealer bill and the approach the manufacture with that copy of that bill for your greievance even if your dealer's does not provide with the duplicate warranty it serves the same purpose as your warranty card .
