Taxation of armed forces disability pension

Sir,

I am an ex-servicemen and now a central government employ drawing disability pension (disability 40%). Is disability pension (which includes service element) exempted from income tax? If it is exempted, under which section should i show it in IT returns? please guide me.

There is no such exemption in the Income Tax Act.

Sir learnt that disability pension of Armed forces is completely exempt from income tax under section 10. Is there any need to report to Income tax authorities and if yes then how do i report it?

Sir some say disability pension to be shown under exempt cell but there is no "exempt"cell in itr1.D20 cell says if its more than 5000/- fill itr 2. Now way out sir?
