Is creating a fake account in a social network site a cyber crime or any other crime?

It will be a cyber crime if used to commit crimes such as fraud, cheating, defrauding a person or causing other crimes such as defamation etc. It may be classified as Cyber Squatting.

if that person opened a fake profyl & chatted wid few ppl giving thm d idea tht he/she is tht person wid whom they r talking bt actualy he/she is nt..is tht a crime? & wat is cyber squatting sir?

Cyber squatting means registering a famous domain name and then selling it. Even registering a web site in a fake name may fall under this category. The actions mentioned by you definitely constitute crime s not only under the IT Act, 2000 but also crimes under the IPC.
