It is not necessary to reach an Aruna Shanbaug type situation to consider euthanasia. Sooner or later everyone has to die. Beyond a certain stipulated age everyone should have the right to voluntarily retire from this world in a planned manner.

What is the difference between euthanasia and suicide? The former is something that one does to another. One of the pre-conditions for euthanasia is that the person is incapable of doing to himself.

Appreciate the effort of the writer. Legislation is not needed. How you do MTP. Are you not terminating the life, so it is preposterous. Passive ethunasia is adequate. so that there will not be easy misuse is my view.
