Apply for Inclusion of name in the Electoral Rolls in Chhattisgarh

Eligibility

  • Candidate must be a Citizen of India.
  • Candidate must have attained 18 years of age, as on 1st January of that year.
  • Candidate must be an ordinary resident of that area where he/she wishes to enrol his/her name.

Procedure

  • Candidates can get their names registered during a door-to-door campaign, which is done by the authorised Government functionaries once in every 3 to 5 years, or as and when the Election Commission decides.
  • Candidates can also get their names registered during annual revision, the date of which is published by the Election Department, and is held mostly in the month of January every year. In this case, the eligible person should obtain the appropriate Form from the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the locality or Polling Station, or from the website (External website that opens in a new window), and submit the duly filled up form to the concerned ERO or Designated Officer. Then the applicant has to present himself on the date of hearing. If every thing is in order, the applicant's name is enrolled in the Electoral Roll.

Form -7 (PDF file that opens in a new window) --Application for objecting inclusion or seeking deletion of name in Electoral Rolls.

Form -8 (PDF file that opens in a new window) -- Application for correction to particulars entered in Electoral Rolls

Form -8A (PDF file that opens in a new window) --Application for transposition of entry in Electoral Rolls.

The Forms have to be submitted physically to the ERO concerned. They cannot be submitted online. However, a candidate can check the inclusion of his name through the online electoral rolls hosted at http://www.ceochhattisgarh.nic.in (External website that opens in a new window)

Concerned Authority

Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of concerned Assembly Constituency in the state.

Necessary documents/papers

  • Proof showing age and citizenship
  • If shifted from other places, necessary proof of his earlier entry in the voter list
