Is it possible to get indian passport and give up nepali passport?

Here is the scenario on my case :

  • Born in Nepal & obtained Nepalese passport
  • Left Nepal, stayed in India & obtained aadhar & PAN , running a new IT Company

My parents scenario (father) :

  • Was Nepal citizen but later obtained Indian documents like aadhar, pan, voter card..

My parents scenario (mother) :

  • Still Nepalese Citizen

Is it possible for me to give up Nepal passport and obtain Indian passport?

Indian nationals enjoy the privilege of travelling to Nepal and Bhutan without requiring a passport. This exemption is rooted in diplomatic and regional cooperation agreements between the countries.

You can file the documents for issuance of pasport since you have the adhaar card ,

Not just a Nepali, any citizen of any country can gain the citizenship of India provided he follows te procedures of law meant for that purpose.

Hence you first acquire Indian citizenship after which you can apply for Indian passport
