Adverse possession of plot of land - issues about continuity

If a compound is built around a plot of land and for years has encroached on another plot despite the owner's objection for more than 20 years and then later it is brought down to repair it and remains down for a couple of months and is then put up, does it impact adverse possession? After all, for more than 12 years, it was continuous.  Please clarify if continuity requires up to now or mere continuity for more than 12 years.

Your query starts with "if...." means it is not a real but hypothetical story.

Is it possible and practical that despite objection from owner the encroacher can continue illegal possession.

Either the facts posted are imaginary or unable to draft properly for consideration and obligation of experts.

It would be appropriate to consult a local prudent lawyer for proper appreciation of facts and circumstances and professional advise.

Why "if" and also, posting compound sentence . If a real issue, please repost the query in simple sentences bringing out the issue, if any.
