Disqualification in localbody election

A candidate who is a government cable contractor contested in local body election in tamilnadu.  The scrutiny officer is also colluded. He rejected the complaint. So finally  Complaint given to election commission.  Almost ten months no action taken. What's the punishment if one hide the details as  a contractor. How can we sue these culprits.

What is the complaint referred in the post ?

Incomplete facts.

It would be appropriate to consult and engage a local prudent lawyer for better appreciation of facts / document, professional advise and necessary proceeding.

Sir a government cable contractor are also contractors only. Is it possible to contest as election rules.?

On what analogy you feel that a contractor (even if biding for govt contracts) cannot contest elections?

Is he employed by Govt on salary?

Sir the candidate is a cable tv contractor.it is under tamilnadu government . Whoever under this cable tv are called( LCO) LOCAL CABLE OPERATORS . Also everymonth government paying amount to LCO. so whoever getting amount from a government will be treated as direct or subsidary employee only. This is my doubt.

Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Advocate)     31 December 2022

whether he is (or is not ) in employment of govt.  Given facts indicate he is mere contractor.

A LCO is not a government employee hence he is not restricted from contesting election(s)
