Name of baby

is there any law for naming
baby.
I am a sikh and my husband is hindu. we want to add both our surnames to our daughter's name but Maharashtra municipality says it is not possible. is it so? can anyone enlighten us on this?

There is no such regulation heard on naming of your own baby.  File RTI Application seeking information as follows:

Information solicited:

1.Please provide copy of the rules and regulations or bars if any naming children by their parents.

Search website of Municipality to locate Public Information officer, down load prescribed format of application and affix adhesive court fee stamp of Rs.10/- 

In what way Municipality is concerned is not known.  Infact during religious ceremonies they state a name and later the name in the admission of child may be different.

Yes, there is no Law or Regulation as to a person ought to be named. For a bay it is the sweet choice of the parents.
