MP HC directs inquiry into violation of labour laws by wooden mills Jabalpur | Wednesday, Mar 4 2009 IST The Madhya Pradesh High Court today directed the Harda Collector to file inquiry report into 60 wooden cutting automatic 'Aara' machine establishment not providing daily wages, accidental insurance, weekly offs and other benefits to labourers as per the labour law. Admitting a PIL by Harda-based Anurag Modi, a division bench comprising Chief Justice A K Patnaik and Justice Aryendra Kumar Saxena issued notices to the Collector, the Secretary (Labour), the Secretary (Industries) and others to file their reply within four weeks. Petitioner's counsel Raghvendra Kumar told the court that the state government had directed the Harda Collector to investigate into irregularities by these wooden mills but the Collector had produced fake and arbitrary reports as he favoured machine and factory owners. The petitioner prayed the court to issue directions for fresh investigation in the matter.
