Bail Plea Advanced To Sajjan Kumar As Medical Condition Is Precarious

The Supreme Court has preponed the interim bail plea of ex Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, who was convicted in 1984 anti-Sikh Riots case, for September 3, 2021. It was said that Kumar’s medical condition was precarious. The Apex Court, while directing the CBI to file an affidavit by September 6, 2021, had asked it to verify the medical condition of Sajjan Kumar. The decision was given by Justices S Muralidhar and Vinod Goel.

Delhi HC: Copy Of Every Document Filed In Court Must Be Supplied To Opposite Party Unless Exempted By Court

Whenever any party to a litigation suit gives any document to the Court/ Tribunal, the copy of such document has to be mandatorily supplied to the opposite party, unless otherwise directed by the Court. The decision was given by the Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh. It was stated that an exemption from the above position can be sought only in exceptional cases, such as those concerning Official Secrets Act.

Delhi HC: Update Software To Meet Requirement Of Marriage Registration Via VC

The Delhi Government has informed the Delhi High Court that it is not in a position to allow registration of marriage via video conferencing as the software used by them for the said purpose does not permit the same. The decision was given by Justice Rekha Palli. The case was of Reena Chadha & Anr. v. GNCTD. The Court expressed inclination to dispose of the matter at the earliest, and asked the opposing counsel to get positive instructions by the next date.

Individual Performing Public Duty Would Come Under Prevention Of Corruption Act

The Karnataka High Court has held that even if an individual is not a public servant, if he is discharging "public duty" by virtue of his office, he is answerable to the State and public and he comes within the ambit of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The decision was given by Justice S Vishwajith Shetty. The case was of G. Krishnegowda and the State of Karnataka. Advocate Papegowda B appeared for the petitioner and Advocate Manmohan. Solitary Offence Under Prohibition Act No Ground For preventive Detention Under PASA

The Gujarat High Court has held that just because a solitary offence has been registered against the appellant-detenu under the Gujarat Prohibition Act, that by itself does not have any bearing on the maintenance of public order. The decision was given by a Division Bench of Chief Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Biren Vaishnav. The case was of Karansinh Chetansinh Vaghela v. the State of Gujarat.

Delhi HC: Physical Visitation Of Child Not Allowed Unless Parent Is Fully Vaccinated

The Delhi High Court has observed that it cannot pass an order permitting physical meeting of a father with his minor son, who is living with his estranged wife, unless the former is fully vaccinated. The decision was given by Justice Rekha Palli. The case was of Vishal Verma v. Twinkle Vinayak. The matter has now been posted for hearing on 8th September.
