Meanwhile Shabnam and Saleem (her lover) were convicted and sentenced to death. This verdict by the sessions court was challenged by Shabnam.

The boy is taken to the Amroha Child Welfare Committee and then to Rampur jail, where his mother is confined, every three months.

It is a 150-year-old structure.

While Shabnam will be hanged at the Mathura district jail, it is still not clear where Salim will be hanged.
