No rent to be charged from poor workers 

Amid the emerging concern over COVID-19, the ministry of Home Affairs has recently in an order stated that the Landlords can’t force the labourers to pay the rent for their households.The aforesaid has been done because the nation is observing a lockdown and there is a privation of financial resources with these workers. Violation of the aforesaid directions can lead the employers to be penalised.  

No salaries to be deducted for one month

The ministry has also issued certain directives to the employers to NOT deduct the wages and salaries of the poor workers and the labourers for a month amid the outbreak of the Novel Corona virus. The same has been done to ensure the well-being of the workers and the labourers during the 21 day country wide lockdown. There shall be strict penalties for the employers who deduct the salaries.

Announcement

The Ministry has asked the states all over the country to strictly follow the fresh guidelines that have been issued. The Police Authorities, The DM’s and other administrative authorities have been asked to look into the strict application of the same.
