The Delhi High Court has issued notice in a plea challenging the Rule mandating deduction of 2.5% from the total percentage of a candidate in the best four subjects in case of change of stream while securing admission to a course in Delhi University. Notice was issued to the Delhi University by a Vacation Bench of Justice Jyoti Singh in a petition by Muskaan Aggarwal.

As per Delhi University's revised bulletin of information for admission in the undergraduate courses for the academic year 2019-20, a compulsory deduction of 2.5% marks is provided if a student opts for a course which he or her has not studied in class his or her 12. It was also claimed that the Rule mandating the deduction finds no reference in the High court rulings concerning eligibility criteria for DU admissions.
