The Standing committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law & Justice is examining the matter in consultation with all stakeholders.

The Law Commission has submitted its 255th Report on the issue of “Electoral Reforms”. However, the Law Commission has not recommended the ‘Right to reject’ and ‘Right to Recall’ in the said Report.

The recommendations made by the Law commission in its 244th and 255th Report are under examination of Government. Since the matter involves in-depth deliberations with various stake-holders, it would be difficult to indicate specific time frame for implementation of the recommendations.

This information was given by Union Minister of Ministry of Law & Justice, Shri D. V. Sadananda Gowda in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
