HC notice to Centre, IOC on black marketing of LPG cylinders New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today sought status reports from the Centre and the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) over the actions taken to check black marketing of LPG cylinders and ensure their supply to genuine consumers. Responding to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), a division bench headed by Justices T S Thakur and Siddharth Mirdul has asked them to submit their replies by July 19. The court also issued notices to the Ministry of Petroleum and the General Manager of IOC. Petitioner Raj Kumar Kaushik, president of an NGO Society for Voice of Human Rights and Justices, submitted before the court that distributors of LPG gas were deliberately pushing the cylinders meant for genuine consumers into the black market. However, repeated representations of the concerned officials before Bharat Gas and Indane Gas companies fell on deaf ears, the petition further alleged. Making specific references of Ghaziabad, the petitioner sought the court's intervention to get the Central government and the corporation to find a way out. The court fixed July 19 for further hearing on the matter.
