Registered leave & license agreement

Dear Experts,

In Spite Of A Leave & License Agreement Registered In Maharashtra, If The Tenant/ Licensee Refuses To Vacate The Premises Concerned After The Period Of Lease Stipulated In The Agreement Has Expired, Are There Any Options Available To The Owner Apart From Approaching The Court For An Eviction Order?
Thanks,
Kaushik.

Sir,

If your Leave & License deed is properly stamped and duly registered, you can issue a notice to the licensee to vacate the premises and in case he fails to do so, you have to approach and file an eviction suit with the legal authority to make him to vacate.

The Licensor is entitled to charge the Licensee as and by way of damage a sum equal to double the amount of liceense fee per day from the date of such determination or termination, as per the Provisions of Section 24 of Maharashtra Rent Control Act. 1999 as amended up to date,

Good Luck,

Kishor Mehta
