Registeration of Copyright in India by a foreign entity

I have two questions related to copyright in India:

Q.1. Can I copyright a TV show format (basically the idea/theme of the video for eg: how the show Bigg Boss has a specific format) under the Indian Copyright Act? I have read articles online that suggest TV format can be copyrighted in India, and I am assuming as a literary work, please correct me if I am wrong and guide me on how to copyright the format?

Q.2. Can a foreign company (based in Singapore) register a copyright in literary work in India? Please guide me, as to where can I find details pertaining to foreign companies registering copyright in India and the procedure.

I think you can apply for a copyright for the format thought by you as there is no clause that precludes any foreign company from applying for a copyright in India. The copyright office is in New Delhi.You can contact the office for further information. You can file the same on your own also.The website is www.copyright.gov.in
