Renting a flat before possession.

Can a owner rent a flat/property beore getting it's possession?

I'm looking for a store room which is required for my bussiness, the flat shown by agent is almost ready but owner has yet to get the possesion, will there be any legal issue if I go for that flat?

No legal issues... but from which date you will pay the rent...? Normallyl. rent is payable from the date of tenant takes the posession of the property /flat...

Thanks for you reply Pervez.

Of course I will be paying him rent from the date of (unregistered) agrement (leave and license)

Also, can I officaly use this adress?

Can someone raise a question like "how owner can rent a property which is yet not in his possession"

What is the legal importance of possession letter?

If the possesion letter is not given by builder, that means the persion(owner) does not posses the property legally, even though it has index 2 papers. Builder can claim on such property if there are dues from the person(owner) who has not paid the amount  in the agreement between the persion(owner) and the builder.

Any thoughts?

Regards

Mika
