can any one give me the format of drafting memorandum of association/ necessary documents required for registration and running of an NGO

Dear Kumar,


                            Format may not  not be  proper as NGO may differ from one another: But  NGO registration are as follows.


NGO are registered for 1.Promotion of literature,science,fine arts etc. 2.Impart knowledge or political education. 3.Improvement of natural environment including forest,lakes,rivers and wild life. 4.a charitable purpose.


Requirement for registration: A minimum of 7 members having same objective. A memorandum of Association. A set of Rules and reguations.


Memorandum of Association is a charter of the Association specifying the aims and the objectives of the society or association etc and the society can not act beyond the memorandum of association.


Contents of Memorandum are:-


The name of the society or association. The address of the Society where it opertes.. the aims and objectives in detaisl. The names and addresses and the occupation of governing body members to whom the management is to be vested. The name and addresses and the occupation of the remaining founding members. The founding members or the General Body of the association makes the rules and regulations of the society and it has to be certified as correct by nort less than 3 mambers preferably by the President, Secretary and the treasurer for the purpose of Registration.


Rules of the Society are:


Eligibility of membership. Disqua;ification of members. Appointment of president, vice president, secretary and the treasurer and other official who are designated as the Executive members or the governing members and their powers and functions.


Date of annual general meeting and number of annual general meeting.


ordinary and extraordinary meeting of the General body.


Quorum of Governing body meeting: Manner of voting.


Property of society how vested and suit by or against the society: procedure for amendment, alteration or modification of the memorandum of association or society: Appointment of the Auditors: Procedure for dissolution of the Asociation .After the adoption of the Memorandum of association also known as the bye laws of the asoociation the same is presented to the Registrar along with a copy of the report of the proceedings of the General meeting at which the resolution to register the society was passed are filed to the Registrar of the society for registration. The fees for registration is normally Rs.50/- which differ from State to State. After Registration the society become a juristic person.
