I am working in an IT company at Navi Mumbai. I joined the company on 01-11-2006 but I received confirmation on date 02-04-2009 for effective date 01-04-2009. I have complete five years.
My question is when my gratuity will start ? What is the process to start gratuity account.

Gratuity shall be payable from the start when you joined if there was no major break in service. Gratuity is payable only when you leave the service after serving minimum service of continuous five years. A continuous service of one year is when you have worked for minimum 240 days including holidays and your authorised leave.

Company HR gets the HR forms filled up and signed from new employee and submit the forms to respective authorities. Your compant HR msut have collected the sam from you on your joining. You can check with HR.
