Ours is an SSI unit having 25 workers. Now we wish to give few production activities on contract basis. That is : we shall pay to contractor per piece basis. We shall be giving contract to 3 different contractors for three different type of work / products. Each contactor will hire 4-8 workers on salary basis. In this scenerio I understand that contractor should obtain ESI / PF registrations. My question is : Will ESI / PF officers give registrations, when these contctors do not have minimum strength of 10 - 20 workers respectevely ? What is the solution ?
