Agreements and sstamp paper

Hi,

Do all contracts and agreements have to go on stamp paper? I have come across alot of agreements not on stamp paper, signed by both paries!

no. requrement of stamping depends upon the nature of contract and place of execution as it is governed by state acts e.g. Bombay stamp act in Maharashtra etc. Goverments` interest in stamp papers is just earning revenue and many times it may not affect the entire validity of the document....
