What would happen would depend upon what reliefs are claimed in the DV case. Appear in the case when notice is issued to you and contest the case on merit. As adviced above the case should not be left to proceed exparte.

Yes appear before the protection officer once you received summons, see what she states in complaint and then contest the same on merits.
