How to find os number of a case?

Sir,

we have been made one of the  party to a civil suit. But we have not received any summon from the court or by private notice, but the case is on and we are not aware even what is the OS number. We had asked the judge but He said without case number he cannot help.

Is there a CPC to get the OS number? we only know the name address of the plaint and his counsel and the court were the case is running

If you have patience and sure about the court  you could go thro court diary for the last 3 months and you will be able to find.you could find it thro your other side advocate name and your other side party name in court website also

Raja, how did you come to know that you have been impleaded as party to the suit ?, As you said that you know the curt, party name, counsel's name, you approach that particular court's office, ask for the suit register of the year, verify the entries in it and find out the Original suit number tallying to the details in your hand, from that you can check the court diary for the latest date of hearing.
