Hello,
I am an indian citizen and few years back i had overstayed in UK for 3 years. Right now i am in india and my indian passport got expired so i applied for renewal and during renewal process they sent me a show cause notice asking for explanation of this overstay and they put my renewal process on hold.
I think overstay in foreign country is not a concern of indian passport authority and doesn't come under them.
So my query to experts here is...If this is an offence then Under what section it is considered offence and
what is the penalty.
P.S.: I am not deported and i travelled back to india on my valid passport and not on EC.
