Gift received from outside india

Hello to All LAWYERCLUB Members, Friend & Seniors,

 

I am Going to Received Some Gift from outside india So i have some doubts AND This is Best Place Where you can meet Experts. Please Please help me out.. (CIF Value: NIL)

 

1. is it Subject to Import Duty??

 

2. is there any need to obtain IEC Code for Such gift if the Receiver is individual (Ordinary Resident)??

 

3. is there any chances of get seized??

 

4. what if Sender has Put Some CIF Value on Goods??

 

Pls Pls help me.....

Yes, they are liable to Custom Duty and IEC code is required, they could be seized.
