Under a will getting the property

Under a unregistered "Will", where theWill, states that two, self owned- residential properties , to be divided equally, amongst his two sons, as per the directions of the Will, giving dimensions of the properties, and 

the manner the properties to be divided:

1)Can the two sons, get the properties registed in their names Jointly?

2) After that can they go for individually , to get individual Khata as per their individual pattern (not as per the will), after getting the property transferred Jointly?

two sons seperately can register their property individually. Why again combinedly ? They have to pay registration charges, stamp duty etc. as per law of the concerned state rules.
