hi there,
I am planning to start a media company where i would go and click photogarphs of foriegners traveling to India. Obtain a model release from them and then sell the images online.
What legalities do you think is required in such cases? Do I need to obtain any special permissions/work permits?
I hear that in Mumbai movie directors hire foriegners for a day's shoot or something like that. So i am sure there must be some procedure they follow?
Are there any guidelines?

Yes, you need to register a company under Companies Act. 1956 for carrying out media business.
If you are selling those images online, make sure that you did not violate any copy rights (like getty images)
