Does arbitration award req confirmation of civil court

Dear All,

There was a MOU between the parties having Arbitration clause therein. On a dispute one of the party has appraoched the Arbitrator. An award is passed in the year 2008. Does that party requires an confirmation from Civil court for executing the said Award and if it is to be confrimed from the Civil Court under which provision.

Please suggest.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Ritu

Award passed by Arbitrator is just like a decree and can be executed in a  similar manner as a decree is executed.Award passed under the provisions of Arbitration and conciliation Act does not require any confirmation from civil court.
