Lost previous year form 16, employeer denying to provide

Dear All,

I am in a very serious problem, I've lost my previous year FORM 16 that my previous employeer provided me. My new employeer needs a copy of previous year FORM 16 for VISA purpose.

I called the account guy, but he is denying to provide anything.

Please help me out, as I urgently need the document.

You can get from 26AS by logging onto to IT website and inputing your PAN details.this form 26AS is equally valid as good as form 16A .Oncde I had similar issues and I even got refund on the basis of form 26AS.

If you have a PAN and you have furnished it to the bank where you have account and you are availing internet facility, you can directly go to the site and view Form 26AS. Government has also given orders that all tax deductors should only take from 26AS for purpose of issuing Form 16 or 16A from Assessment Year 2012-13 onwards..
