What is compounding and is it possible for ipc 279,337,338?

Dear All,

what is compounding of offence and can it be done for IPC 279,337 and 338?

I am informed by my lawyer that it can be done only for cases where death is involved. Is it true?

Thanks and Regards,

Tarang

compounding means compromise between affected party and accused, which can be compounded  by affected party only. However only those offences are allowed to be compromised which are not grave in nature. the offences you have asked for do not find place in the category of compoundable  offences.
