Transfer of owner ship of two wheeler

Dear Learned friends,

I have taken a second hand two wheeler kinetic honda from my neighbour, I have submitted the documents through a Driving School to the RTO Office Indira Nagar Bangalore for the Transfer of Name Change i.e Transfer of ownership in the RC BOOK.

Now the RTO is expecting the previous owner should come and sign in the register, but my neighbour is not willing to come to RTO Office and put the signature.

Please let me know how to move further and get my RC Book back from the RTO Office.

Your opinion would be of great help to me.

Regards,

Udaya V S

You need to convince your neighbour.  If he is not co-operating, point out that as per the law, owner of the vehicle is responsible for any offences committed by the drivers.  From this point of view, he will definitely co-operte with you.

I did tranfer the vehicle from my name to third party name.  In fact, I took the lead to transfer the owenership and ensure registration in the new oweners name to overcome the problems indicated above.
