Help me

Hello to all the esteemed members here.. I have a query pertaining to copyright. If a person has taken a picture of a celebrity at an airport and then posted it on a website...Can another person save that picture and post it on another website or would it amount to copyright infringement? Who can legally object to this?

If the person who has got copy right can initiate legal proceedings against the second person who has used it on another website.

Dear Vishesh,

Firstly, if we had strong privacy laws, the celebrity may have been able to prevent the first person to upload his photograph on the website.

Secondly, once the photograph was taken the copyright subsisted with the person who took it. If it was copied by another and posted on another website the first person may send him a take down notice and if not complied with, further legal action may be taken against the second person.

Regards,
