Patent analyst or patent agent

Dear All,

I am an engineering graduate with 2+ years of software industry experience. I want to switch my career to IPR field. Would it be better for me to hunt for a patent analyst job or give patent bar exam first? What are the benefits of hunting an IPR job after becoming a registered patent agent?

Thanks and Regards ,

You can always shift to become a Patent Agent as it is in India by appearing and clearing the Patent Agent Exam that is held.

On clearing you have to Register yourself as Patent Agent and you can represent Patent cases and appear before the authorities and draft Patent claims ans so on.

Hi I am a registered patent agent but possess no practical experience with respect to filing, litigation and other areas. I have a science background, however quite hesitant to join a patent law firm due to the fact will I be able to understand the legal side practically.

Is it ok to join a firm as a trainee without experience? pls suggest. thanks
