Protest against the government for lokpal bill - justified??

Intention is to get the Jan Lokpal Bill passed by the Parliament. What is wrong with this intention? So long the protests are peaceful, were is the problem? Whose rights are getting hurt or violated by a peaceful protest?

The Motive is to get the Bill passed in the Parliament... and no doubt the mode of communicating the same to the Government was by a Peaceful protest.

 

My query was mainly focussing on the fact that tomorrow if any other common man has a point to raise against the governement, he might also follow in similar footsteps?

 

From the point of view of the Central Government, is is feasible to entertain protests/ complaints/ grievances of similar nature or else everytime there is a conflict of interest?

So long the grievence of any common man is genuine and has been not solved by following all the laid down procedures, he has every right to protest in a peaceful manner. Same is the case with Jan Lokpal Bill. Government is servant of the people and it is government's job and duty to address the grievances. If we suppress genuine protests under various excuses then we are not democracy but a police State.

First of all I would like to tell, that India never got or snatched independence by its own strength like Americans. Rather India was granted transfer of power at the convenience and pleasure of the British.

 

What do you mean by "meaningful protests, struggle"? American War of Independence was not done with self destructive hungerstrikes, nor was Indian "transfer of power" done due to hungerstrikes. Was American War of Independence not a "meaningful protests, struggle"?

It is one of the biggest misconceptions and myths ever created by vested political interests that "meaningful protests, struggle", hungerstrikes,  MK Gandhi and company compelled the British to do "transfer of power". Instead it was 1st and 2nd World Wars, rebelions by INA and fear of further large scale rebellion by soldiers in armed forces that made British think that keeping India as a colony will be a loss making enterprise to manage. The saying goes: 'Thorn is removed by a thorn'. Thus, fact that multiple factors caused independence is not disputed. But, there were multiple thorns. Some thorns got removed by set of vices. Some other thorns got removed by some other set of vices. INA, its protogonist, Bose etc did play role model in their own hemishpheres. Colonial rule created traps for others to fall and got caught in its own traps after sometime and could not raise beyond that.

 

Hungerstrike is wayward different from satyagraha: Upwas, Salt etc.

 

It is better for India to have specific ways akin to itself. India need not have to follow America. Factually, Indian philosophies are mightier, productive than American wars. India is a superpower even today. While you are aware of cures for ailments, I will be able to talk enough about what is called as 'Preventive medicines' i.e. cure even before the ailment blows up. India has mastered in other fields as well. We are today aware of techniques to catch a thief after he burgles, a murderer after he murders. But, India specialises in what is called 'Preventive crime techniques' . You will not see the criminal surface at all. He will be neutralised at his own zone of comfort and not turn him to be rebel as what the current system provokes. He will be happy, would be targets will be happy, neutrals (i.e. you, me, he, she, it, they, mountains, rivers, countries irrespective of religion, caste, language....) will be at peace. This applies for many other professions too. India never had police stations. India was amongst the richEST of countries. How? Why? My friend, factors, parameters, livelihood technologies enabled such glories. They are definitely possible. Yes.

Anna ji is a satyagrahist. The cause he espoused is a meaningful need. I think a strong Lok Pal should be carved, but should not create even a single post that will be/turn to be a burden for the common pool after some days. Design techniques will fill such lacunae. It should catch corrupt people, prove their crime, dismiss them, their post and take that post for the would be statutory body/its wings all across wherever it becomes applicable.

If corruption is removed, we won't have people contesting elections? Why to spend 10 crores if there is no return.
