DEED OF APARTMENTS

   

   WHEN  A    DEED  OF  APARTMENTS  IS  REGISTERED    THE  NAMES  OF  ORIGINAL  OWNERS  ARE  MENTIONED  IN  THE  DEED .       NOW  WHEN  THE   OWNERSHIP  CHANGES  THROUGH  SALE  OR  INHERITANCE   ,  WHAT  IS  THE  PROCEDURE  TO  MAKE  CHANGES   IN  THE  NAMES  OF  OWNERS  IN  THE  DEED  OF  APARTMENTS ?     AND   WHICH  AUTHORITY  DO  WE  APPROACH  TO  MAKE  SUCH   CHANGES    IN  THE  NAMES  OF  OWNERS .

First apply before society maintaing the building then when it happens make payments due to socity, if any,there after apply before municipal concerns.

       Yes  , but  what  happens  to  the  deed  of  apartment  which  is  registered  in  the  name  of  old  owners  and  filed  with  appropriate  authority  (  Registrar  of  co-op  soc  in  maharashtra ) .  Can   new   owners  substitue  their  names  in  the  deed  of  apartments in  place  of  old  owners   . Is  that  necessary   ?

Hopefully there would be register of records where new owners willget substituted. May be they insit you to produce sucession certificate issued by court in case you claim through inheritence or production of copy of sale deed if you are claiming title via transferfrom original owners.
