Screwed Up Priorities

First off, please note the person seeking advice under the depressing heading "Dowry death case." As of right now, this topic has gotten 108 views and 6 responses since being posted on the 17th.

In the meantime, a man posing the question "Is it illegal to kill stray dogs?" has gotten 1016 views and 41 responses since being posted on the 16th! At this very minute, there are FIVE PAGES of responses, mostly from animal lovers pleading that people should not shoot stray dogs because it's cruel!

Sample response:

"why should one react to violence with violence? i think there are some NGOs or animal homes which can be informed and they will take the dogs away... plus, you should have a meeting with the members of your locality to find a mutual solution, which is peaceful as well..... people of ur locality shud jointly meet the concerned authorities and be assertive & stern while demanding the removal of these dogs to some animal home....but dont kill them for god's sake!it's inhuman."

HUH?! Am I the only person who thinks that this reflects some VERY screwed up cultural priorities?!

Perhaps a woman who fears she will be subject to dowry death should flee her husband's home disguised as a dog. That way, if she is pursued, an angry mob of animal lovers will defend her from harm.

only people who have legal knowlegde can respond to dowry death, divore, etc queries, you don't need that much knowledge to respond to animal rights violation queries.
