Tenant not vacating

Dear Sir

We have a property in coimbatore,Which my mother bought in 1953. Before 6 years she gave the house for rent (Rs.2000) without making any agreement and we are not giving any rent receipts also . And now I want to sell the house and we have given the notice to the tenant before 3 months orally. But the tenant is refusing to vacate the house.Kindly advise me what to do. (As I got advance for selling and made the agreement to hand over the house after three months).

Advise regarding this issue is highly gratefull and appreciated.

Regards

Maruthanathan

The tenant has become a statutary tenant. His eviction can be only as per the provisions of TN Buildings (L&R) control Act.Mere notice would not suffice unless he volutarily vacates.

Try to vacate him by forcefully.
