Arriving Daily Wage / Salary

Dear Experts,

I am facing a problem with our Accounts Department while calculating the daily wage / salary of an employee:

Generally we are using the formula : Total gross wage OR salary /30 days

But our Accounts Dept. says             :  Total gross wage OR salary / 26 days

Ex: One employee salary is Rs.30000/- by arriving his daily salary : 30000/30= 1000/- is it correct    OR

                                                                                                                         30000/26=  1154/-

Please kindly clarity the above :

Regards,

PBS KUMAR

the formula followed by your Accounts department is perfect. If the wage is fixed for a month, it should be divided by 26 since 4 weekly holidays should be compueted as paid holidays.

under which Act, the commissioner/court has issued notice and whether you have paid the due wages or not or any wages is due, these  basic information are required to meet with your requirements.
